#1. Step 1 — Scope-specific tenure check
Ask each candidate: how many UAE projects of this exact scope have you completed in the last 24 months? Eight or more is leading; under three is not.
#2. Step 2 — Reference call, not reference letter
Letters are written by the contractor. Calls are not. Ask for three numbers and call them — ask about schedule slippage, HSE incidents and dispute behaviour.
#3. Step 3 — Equipment register inspection
Visit the yard. Long-reach excavators, breakers and shears physically present beats a written list. Note ages, attachment range and maintenance records.
#4. Step 4 — HSE statistics request
Request the last 12 months of recordable man-hours, LTI and near-miss rate. Anyone who cannot produce these within one working day is not measuring — they are not leading.
#5. Step 5 — Authority approval verification
Check classification with the relevant municipality portal. ISO certificates via UKAS/ANAB/DAC registers. Civil Defence approval for controlled demolition direct.
#6. USF on this checklist
USF Demolition Works LLC passes all five steps with documented evidence sent within one working day — no NDA required.
