    New Zealand Pavilion Demolition

Client: Rimond Middle East General Contracting LLC Dubai, UAE

    PROJECT SCOPE

    Full Demolition of Pavilion

New Zealand Pavilion Demolition is a expo 2020 demolition case study delivered by USF Demolition Works LLC in the United Arab Emirates. As one of the most experienced licensed demolition contractors in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and across the UAE, our team was appointed to plan, permit, and execute the full demolition scope — from initial site surveys and asbestos / hazardous material screening through to soft strip, structural demolition, foundation removal, material segregation, and final site clearance. The project was delivered under the same HSE and quality management standards that have made USF Demolition Works a trusted partner for government bodies, developers, EPC contractors, and facility owners throughout the Emirates.

    HOW WE DELIVERED

    The Challenge

Every expo 2020 demolition scope carries its own mix of constraints, and New Zealand Pavilion Demolition was no exception. Working inside an active urban corridor meant the team had to align with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, DEWA, and RTA requirements while respecting programmed road closures, neighbour notifications, and strict noise and dust limits defined in the approved method statement. Structural stability of adjoining buildings, overhead services, and below-grade utilities all had to be surveyed and protected before any heavy breaker, shear, or high-reach excavator touched the structure. Traffic management, pedestrian diversions, working-hour restrictions, and Ramadan-period adjustments added further layers of coordination that the USF planning team absorbed into the baseline programme.

    Our Approach

USF Demolition Works mobilised an experienced supervision team, certified plant operators, banksmen, and a dedicated HSE officer for New Zealand Pavilion Demolition. A project-specific risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) was issued, reviewed with Rimond Middle East General Contracting LLC, and briefed to every worker on site through toolbox talks in multiple languages. Mechanical demolition using Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu excavators fitted with hydraulic shears, concrete pulverisers, and breakers was combined with selective hand demolition where tight clearances or sensitive finishes demanded a softer touch. Dust was controlled continuously with water cannons and atomisers, noise was monitored, and waste was segregated on site — steel to licensed scrap recyclers, concrete and aggregate to approved crushing facilities, and hazardous fractions to Tadweer / Bee'ah-approved receivers. Daily progress reports, photographic records, and weekly HSE walks were issued to Rimond Middle East General Contracting LLC to maintain full transparency from permit stage to final handover.

    The Outcome

The New Zealand Pavilion Demolition works were completed safely with zero lost-time incidents, zero environmental infringements, and full regulatory sign-off. Full Demolition of Pavilion The handed-over site was left clean, level, and ready for the next package — whether that is piling, new-build construction, landscaping, or redevelopment. Detailed photographic documentation captured every phase of the sequence, from pre-demolition surveys and protective scaffolding through to final clearance, and is available in the gallery below. New Zealand Pavilion Demolition is another example of USF Demolition Works delivering expo 2020 demolition in the UAE on time, on budget, and in full compliance with municipal, environmental, and health-and-safety standards.

Delivered in line with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, and DEWA approval requirements by USF Demolition Works LLC — a fully licensed and ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certified demolition contractor operating across the UAE.
